About LAWINGS and Linda Ferrari

One lawyer, one method: understand, quantify, negotiate, and go to court when necessary.

Linda Ferrari, avocat at the Nice Bar

Admitted to the Nice Bar in 2011, Linda Ferrari founded LAWINGS to focus on cases where law and family meet: inheritance, joint ownership (indivision) and the division of property after a separation.

She trained at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, also studied at HEC, and began her career in Anglo-American law firms, where she acquired the rigour, responsiveness and negotiation skills typical of those firms. She now brings this dual legal and economic background to individuals and families.

These cases are never purely legal. Behind a blocked estate there is often a bereavement, a break-up, siblings who no longer speak to each other, a house full of memories. The firm handles them with the technical rigour they require, without losing sight of what they mean to the people involved.

How we work

Listen, then quantify

The first meeting is about understanding your situation as a whole. We then identify what you can reasonably obtain, and what each option would cost in time and money.

Negotiate first

A settlement signed within a few months is often worth more than a judgment obtained after lengthy proceedings. Court action is prepared, but it is first used as leverage.

Go to court when necessary

When discussion is impossible, the firm takes action before the courts of Nice, Grasse, Draguignan, Toulon, Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, and before the Court of Appeal of Aix-en-Provence.

Keep you informed

Every step is explained to you in writing, in English, and every document is sent to you. You always know where your case stands and what comes next.

Areas of practice

  • Contentious estates: estates at a standstill, concealment of assets by an heir, emptied bank accounts, court-ordered division.
  • Wills and gifts: challenges, reduction of excessive gifts, reinstatement of assets into the estate.
  • Life insurance: excessive premiums, late change of beneficiary, court orders against the insurer.
  • Joint ownership after divorce or separation: buy-out payment, occupancy compensation, mortgage, sale.
  • Ending joint ownership: sale by two-thirds majority, auction, preferential allocation.
  • International estates involving property in France.

Fees and first meeting

The information on this page is general and does not replace legal advice. Every estate and every joint ownership situation has its own particularities.

Let's discuss your situation

An estate that is not moving forward, a co-heir who will not sign, a property in France to sell or buy out: a first exchange helps clarify your rights and the next steps.
